Brief Introduction
The University
of Science and Technology of China (USTC) is one of the most famous
universities in China, and the
first universities singled out for priority support from the nation's
“Plan of Revitalizing Education Action Geared to the 21st
Century”
The Journal
of University of Science and Technology of China（ISSN

CKHPD7）
is a comprehensive, academic journal of natural sciences sponsored by
USTC under the auspice of the Academy of Sciences of China. It was
started by many famous Chinese scientists in 1965 and over the years
there have been over 35 academicians of both the Academy of Sciences and
the Academy of Engineering of China working on the Journal's editorial
board.
The famed mathematician Professor HUA Luo-geng was the editor-in-chief
of the Journal’s first editorial board. Now, the 7th editorial board
consists of 40 famous professors with 12 Academicians of Chinese Academy
of Science ZHU Qing-shi, WANG Shui, WU Xiao-ping, SHI Yun-yu, CHEN
Guo-liang, GUO Guang-can, LI Shu-guang, WU Qi, ZHANG Jia-lv, ZHANG Yu-heng,
ZHOU You-yuan, HOU Jian-guo and 2 Academicians of Chinese Academy of
Engineering HE Duo-hui, FAN Wei-cheng. The USTC President and
Academician ZHU Qing-shi is the chairman and Academician CHEN Guo-liang
is the editor-in-chief of the board.
In 1981, the Journal
started, relatively earlier than other academic journals in China, to carry
papers in English, add English contents and incorporate English abstracts to
paper in Chinese. It is now a monthly, distributed in and outside of China, and
has been submitted for exchange with nearly 100 major foreign universities,
institutes, or libraries including the Library of Congress, and
has been included by
28 organizations in
and out of China, such as CA, MR, CSA,
Zbl Math, AJ . It has
remained one of the key comprehensive science journals in China, having won a
variety awards in competitions held in natural Journal of Anhui province,
Society of China
University Journals in Natural Sciences.
The
Journal now comes out as A4, monthly. It
practices a strict peer-review
system, emphasizing the quality of the papers and carrying original and
high-standard papers in basic science, information science, engineering
science and priority to high technology fields such as fire science and
protection technology,
computer science, autonomy control, quantum information science,
nanotechnology, polar scientific investigation. Papers are accepted in
both Chinese and English. Over the 40 years since its first publication,
the Journal has published papers by over 10,000 scholars from home and
abroad.
Papers in the Journal
are typeset according to the
international standard from the format to contents and abstracts in Chinese as
well as English.
